Week Two Homework - Rule of Thirds

First of all, you are all doing really well so far and we've only finished the first week! So, today was the second class and we learned all about the Rule of Thirds. Hope it was interesting! ;o)

Photo Class Period One
Photo Class Period Three
So, of course, this week's homework is to take three photos using the rule of thirds and post them to the blog. I encourage you to get creative... Darby's already off to a great start and has set a pretty high standard with her fist post!

And of course, don't forget to post your interpretation of the challenge of the week - patterns and textures.

Ok, so in class today we were able to get the 3rd period class photo, so here's both classes.

Later this semester, we'll be going on a photo field trip to Gruene, Tx., a great location to use everything we're learning. If you haven't been there, it's an old town along a river. Very pretty and a wonderful place to shoot!

Next week we'll be learning other composition techniques such as framing, lines, simplicity and avoiding mergers! Yippy!!!

One more thing, to help us all grow, I'm going to start adding suggestions to my comments and get a bit more critical so we can all learn from each other. Hold on to your seats, it's going to be a bumpy ride! No, not really, you're all doing wonderfully and will only get better!

Happy shooting this week!
