Frames and Thirds and Lines- oh, my!

Alright, technically I didn't pose anything- he was framed in the bar, and the ladies were working in the back. Everything was already there. When I stepped back to take the picture, Tim asked what I was doing, and then he asked if he should pose as if he didn't know I was taking a picture, and I said sure. So... he posed. :)

(PhotoShopped)

I couldn't resist having this fence in the rule of thirds again. It's so interesting!

Here is the skyline from the church window.

Motorcycle Pic

Hey! I actually had a picture for this! :) I took it on the way home.. *yippee!*

Enhanced/Fade/Antique Edit:
Add Image
Tada! I'm so.. *happy!* By the way, I took about 5 or 6 different pictures, and the one when he and the bike were clear, there was a pole sticking out of his head! But if you will notice the red light frame on him and the car.. that wasn't there in the other ones! So.. This is good! :)

not able to post?!

Hey!  I just wanted to let you know that I DID take a motorcycle photo, but blogger won't let me post it!  I'm going to try posting later in the evening (that's why I'm not posting a pic with this post)

Speed Challenge - Motorcycle!

Ok, here we go, this week's speed challenge is motorcycle. The photo can be of one or many motorcycles or as my photo shows here, just a detail of one.

Two rules to this challenge:

1) It must contain a real motorcycle.

2) It cannot be a motorcycle your family owns!

As always this speed challenge is optional. You can submit as many photos as you'd like but they are all due by the end of Monday evening.

This week the winner will receive a beanbag stand for your camera. great for carrying around and using when you don't want to carry a tripod around!

Happy shooting and be creative!

Homework for this week...

My shopping cart photo. This photo actually uses the rule of thirds,
leading lines, framing and repeating objects all together!
Great job this last week to everyone. You're all learning so fast!

Ok, so here's the homework for this week as a reminder:

- One photo using the rule of thirds
- One photo using lines
- One photo using framing

All must be found and not setup.

And of course, the challenge of the week is:

Shopping cart

The photo can be of one shopping cart, many shopping carts or just a piece of a shopping cart. Get creative and have fun with it!

I can't wait to see that you all come up with!

Happy shooting!!!

Belated Texture Photo

Alright. Here is my favorite edit of this photo (Miriam helped me out using fade and boost color edit):
And here is the original that my family likes the best. :)

Belated Assignments

Hey! I'm late, but here are last weeks assignments:

Using the rule of thirds....

Also using the rule of thirds:

Rule of thirds again. I REALLY like looking UP for a picture! :)

Tada!! I will upload my texture picture next.

framing?

She had been swinging earlier and then she stopped and I took a photo.  I don't think this is really framing, since the tree and the swing frame don't really work together in this pic.

Rule of Thirds!!

Finished my homework:)
I selected the settings manually but I had the camera focus it for me:)
I don't really like how you can tell that I cropped these alot but I guess that's my fault for not fixing the layout BEFORE I took the picture...Wow, this class has really gotten me to put a little more thought into my pictures (before and after I take them) which, I think, after much more practice, is really going to help me. So, thank-you so much Mr. Dave for teaching this class - I'm loving it already:)

Perfume Reflections

Here is my 24 hour challenge, although this was definitely put in a little late. :P This is an unedited photo, using a CD box to elevate the perfume bottle a little so that it could be fully reflected in the mirror. I also put some tulle around it so that it would sort of block off the ugly CD box a little, and to also give it a sort of graceful appearance to the picture.

Rule of Thirds and Patterns

The one on top is my rule of thirds picture. My sister was just randomly running up a slide, so I sneaked a picture. The one on the bottom is my "pattern" picture, one of a bike rack with my sister in the middle. I have to give her kudos for cooperating with me and laying on the ground for the photo. XD

Week #2

Perfume and reflection-I know its past "24 hours", but it sounded fun and I still wanted to take the picture :-) btw, everyones photos have been so cool! I love being able to see all of them!

Textures and patterns :) ^ notice how my mom wont let me put HER in the picture. So you all get to see her wonderful hand.

Rule of thirds- You really can't see it here-which is disappointing- but all around these flowers are dead except the ones underneath-the ones in focus-, and it looked nicer on my camera's screen :P

I'm really not obsessed with recycling... it was just convenient both weeks :) notice how I gave the owl room to look.

beaucoup, beaucoup de texture! (lots and lots of texture!)

Here's my texture photo.  I took it on manual white balance with a 200 ISO.  I did edit the photo a little bit.  I: cropped it, made it brighter, and I made the contrast higher. :)  I thought this had a lot of texture in it, a different kind of texture. :)  Enjoy!

Texture photo!

I thought this chicken we have would make a neat subject cause he's got more than one texture to him:)

Boring Pattern

All right, I took a picture of our new fence-thing. again I apologise for the blurryness. :(

Rule of Thirds

Ok so because my camera hates me, two of the three photos are a tad blurry.

Reflecting on Perfume

Taken on automatic everything. Abbie says the dust is added texture. Too bad I didn't notice it sooner. Tried to do retakes this evening, but without the natural afternoon light I could not get the look right.

Perfume, Reflection, and even a lil' chocolate:)

Alright so here's my perfume and reflection photo:) (ill post my homework tomorrow! I havent forgotten...)
Basically I was trying to tell a little story with this picture...by placing my parents' wedding picture in the background in the reflection, I was trying to make the perfume like an anniversary present, and then the chocolates are there to add to that. I don't know what yall get from this photo but that's what I was going for:)
Umm, honestly, I'm not super proud of this picture...but I had to do it indoors (NOT my strong point) and then I ran out of light so this is the best one I had. Sorry, it's grainy...that's because of the high ISO...
Aside from the quality of the photo I hope yall enjoy it:)

edited parfum photo

I LOVE the editing on this.  I thought it looked saweet!!!

thirds and again I say thirds!

Hey!  Here are some more thirds photos.  The first one was just a random deer pic in my house.  I was just playing around with thirds for it.  The second one I was getting more serious about.  It's a porcelin doll that is my moms, and I LOVE it.  So I decided to take some pics of it.  I used a tripod for it, because I just couldn't get the blurriness out of it.  the third photo was the same thing without the flash.  And the fourth one was just a random pic at my nieces bday party on saturday.  Her sis was holding things up to the camera and having me take pics of it, this one turned out pretty cool!

perfume contest

He is my perfume photo, hope you guys enjoy it.

Erasers!

Here are my pictures using the rule of thirds. These are my erasers! aren't they cute?
I used auto for all the pictures and I think they turned out pretty good, I was mainly trying to get the panda and the frog on the hot spots.

I only edited this one, I used boost cause it thought it looked pretty cool!

Week two. rule of thirds.

here is my pattern photo.

these are my rule of thirds, hope you like them.
